As an intermediate link, the coupling transmits to agricultural machines the traction force developed by the tractor corresponding to the total traction resistance of the connected machines.
By means of coupling, machines (tools) used for continuous surface tillage and sowing of grain crops are connected. According to their purpose, the couplers are divided into special ones designed for aggregating agricultural machines of only one type (for example, harrows), and universal ones - for aggregating agricultural machines of different types (harrows, cultivators, seeders). According to the method of connection with the tractor, there are trailer hitches, semi-mounted and mounted, and by location - rear, front and front, or side.
Separate couplings are available for working only with trailed or mounted agricultural machines, as well as for combined work with them.
